Copper Obsession Continues.. // eBay Gems

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8

You're all probably sick of seeing copper on my blog, but I'm so not over it yet! I haven't done an 'eBay Gems' post in a while so I thought I'd put together an interior collection for you all followed by a fashion collection tomorrow. I hope you are all as excited about these little bargains as I am!

I've wanted an acrylic 'Kartell Louis Ghost Chair' for years now, and since moving and creating an office space the need for it is growing. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is lusting after it but refuses to pay the hefty £250.00 price tag! After having a browse through eBay I came across this identical dupe, and the best thing about it? Less than £65.00 with FREE shipping.

I recently bought the Ikea 'Barso' grid, wire trellis for a DIY style notice board. I've seen a lot of posts on Pintrest hooking pen pots to it and kitchen utensils, I personally think they look very chic and minimal. I know Ikea isn't readily available to everyone, so I found something similar on eBay, half the price (no. 1)! This eBay dupe is so much more versatile, you can chose your exact size and you also could spray paint it.

One of my favourite items in this post is the copper mandala effect cushion cover, I've wanted a mandala tattoo for a while now but I'm too much of a chicken to go through with it! So I figured incorporating them into my interior would be the next best thing. This cushion cover is less that £5 with FREE shipping!

I hope you enjoyed this little insight into my current eBay watch list!

New Puppy! // Update

If you follow me on Instagram I'm almost certain you'll have seen the dozens of pictures I've uploaded of my new little fur baby. I thought I'd make it official and introduce you all via blog post, so without further ado... Meet Beau!

Beau is a Teacup Chihuahua crossed with a Teacup Yorkshire Terrier making her a 'Chorkie'. To me, it's pretty much the most perfect combination. Currently, she is fifteen weeks old and stands less than 6 inches tall.

I've been her human for around two months now and there seriously isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't have me in fits of laughter. She's fit into our family so seamlessly it's almost as if we have never not had her!

I do apologise for the quality of these photographs, being a hyper little puppy I always seem for miss her best moments when I have my SLR camera out. These iPhone ones are the best I've managed so far.

If you want to see more of Beau remember to follow me on Instagram and Twitter @Kirstymaay !

Monochrome Summer With Shoe Zone // OOTD

Shorts - Vintage // Fedora - Primark // Crop - H&M // Watch - Daniel Wellington // Sliders - Shoe Zone

I recently teamed up with Shoe Zone and was asked to pick a pair of summer shoes that would suit me best! Shoe Zone is an affordable shoe company that has came a long way since they originally started. You may be thinking affordable shoes... Not so great quality? That's not the case here at all! The company offer a wide range of shoes and even sell brands such as 'Truffle'. I was pleasantly surprised when browsing the site by just how stylish their shoes are at such great prices.

As you can probably tell from my other posts, my style lacks a fair bit of colour and I like to keep things pretty simple, my Shoe Zone pick pretty much sums up my style completely.

These are Shoe Zone's 'Black Truffle Cross Over Pool Sliders' and I'm completely in love. Not only do I love the minimalist design of them, I love the quality. These pictures just do not show how well made they are, the rubber sole feels totally heavy duty. Although these sliders aren't real leather, this synthetic alternative looks just as good and the perforated detail gives them a stylish sports luxe feel. The sliders have a good weight to them, they do not feel cheap and light.

One thing I would mention about this shoe if you are going to order, is that if you're like me and have quite wide feet, I would go a size up, as they are pretty narrow.  Other than that these sliders are the perfect summer sandal. As you can see from the above picture I have styled them with a pair of vintage denim shorts, a fedora, striped crop top and a Daniel Wellington watch, which to me, would be ideal for a festival, holiday or even a day out sat in a beer garden. The best part about it all is that right now they are down to only £12.99!

Even if you are not on a budget, I would recommend giving the Shoe Zone website a browse - you'll definitely be able to pick up a bargain (especially since standard 2 day delivery is free!).

I hope you enjoyed this collaboration and gained some style inspo, especially if you're like me and can't seem to add any colour into your wardrobe, even in summer!

Current Make Up // Favourites

Now that I finally have a new job, I've been able to buy more of the make up I actually lust after. Usually I'm very much a drug store make up kinda' girl, but since working in a department store I have been drawn into the high end market of all things beautiful!

That's not to say I don't touch low end make up anymore, because believe me I do! I will never stop repurchasing the Collection's 'Lasting Perfection Concealer' or Boujour's 'Healthy Mix Foundation'. It also hasn't stopped me bulk buying MUA's £1 lipsticks which I'm completely in love with.

I haven't provided any swatches or close ups in this blog post as Im currently awaiting a new lens for my camera, let me know if there is anything you'd like to see and I'd be happy to add them in. Also, don't forget to click the links to see more information on the products!

Elf (Eyes Lips Face) - Powder Brush
This brush is a complete miracle worker, branded as a powder brush, I think this is much more of a multi-purpose brush. I use it with both liquid foundation and powders. When used with liquid foundation, it is a perfect buffing tool - leaving the foundation looking almost airbrushed. As a powder brush this picks up quite a lot of product, I like to use it in a stippling motion, this for me gives a full, and even coverage.

Urban Decay - Perversion Mascara
This is the first high end mascara that I've ever bought, I usually stick to Maxfactor's 'False Lash Effect' but this completely knocks it off the leaderboard. The bristle wand on this mascara is everything I have been looking for, I am so fed up with hard plastic ones most mascaras have now. The formula is quite a thick consistency and extremely black. When applied it leaves my lashes so volumized whilst still managing to keep them separated.

Mac - 'Painterly' Paint Pot
This is a product which I have repurchased plenty of times. I suffer with quite translucent eyelids, where my veins tend to show through. This not only covers it completely but also smoothes them and acts as a amazing base for my eyeshadows making them last all day. Without a doubt this is a holy grail product for me.

Mac - '266' Angled Brush
I bought this brush back in 2010 in an airport on the way to London, I have used it probably every day since, and it's still going strong! I fill in my eyebrows using this brush, sprayed with Mac's 'Fix+' and dipped in Mac's eyeshadow in 'Concrete'. It's such a great brush for getting that precise, crisp bottom line of the brow.

Benefit - 'Boing' Concealer
As I mentioned previously, I suffer with quite translucent skin around my eyelids and also my under eyes. Ive tried many colour correcting concealers to counteract the blueish tone under my eyes but nothing works as well as this one. I have it in shade '02' which is quite dark for me but it's much more of a peachy/orange colour which works perfectly in covering the blue tones. This is also a heavy duty concealer, which lasts all day and covers almost anything!

Nars - 'Sex Appeal' Blush
As a person who isn't very keen on blushers, I wanted to find something that would give me a really subtle colour. 'Sex Appeal' is a stunning, very light peachy pink colour with the smallest amount of shimmer in it which helps give a gorgeous healthy glow to my skin. I enjoy wearing it on those days that minimal makeup is required, to brighten my complexion.

Mac - 'Prep + Prime' Skin Smoother
This is a product I use only for special occasions and nights out, I apply with my fingers before my foundation. I swear by this product, it works amazingly with Laura Mercier's 'Silk Creme' foundation.  By using the skim smoother my pores are hardly visible and my skin is left with a 'soft focus' like texture.

Mac - 'Concrete' Eyeshadow
This eyeshadow is what I use to fill in my brows, it is a great mid ash brown colour so perfect for blonde like me who prefer their brows to be a little darker than their hair. I also tend to use this in the crease of my eye when doing a subtle smokey eye - it's great as a transitional colour.

Nars - 'Ita' Kabuki Brush
Unlike my Elf 'Powder Brush', this Nars one was a bit of a splurge at £43, was it worth it? If you're like me and struggle with perfecting your contour then yes! This brush is super for getting sculpted cheek bones, jaw lines and even noses. Unfortunately this brush does shed slightly, but I think after a few washes it should stop.

Laura Mercier - 'Silk Creme' Foundation
I cannot begin to tell you how much this foundation has changed my whole routine. It is the foundation of all dreams, if you haven't tried it you need to! Not only does it provide the perfect colour for me, the formula is the most velvety, silky texture. It's also super for occasions where you'll be having pictures taken, as there is no flash back (which means no white cast over the skin!).

Sleek - Contour Kit 'Light'
This little duo is another drugstore product I will always repurchase, the kit comes with a contour colour and a highlight. For me the contour is a great shade for paler skin tones like myself and not to orange in colour which is a huge plus! The highlighter also is to die for - I go crazy with it! Although I do wish the shimmer was a little bit finer.

Bobbi Brown Pallet - 'Bone' & 'Caviar' Eyeshadows
Lastly, Ive been working on my new Bobbi Brown palette. So far, I have the shades 'Bone' which is a gorgeous creamy, matte,  off white colour - perfect for a base, and 'Caviar' a matte black with subtle glitter. I can't recommend this eyeshadows enough, they are really blend-able and work so well on top of my Mac Paint Pot.

I hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse of my current make up favourites.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Range // Review

So, I'm not at all an avid skin care enthusiast, but recently I've been trying a lot harder to keep my skin looking at least half decent.  I started by trying to find my own true skin type, I always thought I had oily skin - which made me over exfoliate my skin with really harsh abrasive scrubs and steer clear of intense moisturisers.
After some research I realised my skin was in fact dehydrated, and the oil I was experiencing was my skin trying to compensate for all the exfoliating I was doing. I also realised whist researching, my skin was clogged and congested - this is when areas of the skin appear slightly bumpy (not necessary spots) and inflamed, and in my case I also had quite a few black heads forming.
Once I'd found my skin type I started researching ways to care for it, the first thing I found out about congested skin was that acid exfoliators are much better than abrasive ones for this skin type, once I trawled the internet for affordable skin which had glycolic acid in it. Originally I was going to opt for the 'Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask' but reconsidered after I saw the hefty price tag. I then came across the 'Nip + Fab' range which is of course much more budget friendly.

Nip + Fab Deep Cleansing Cream £7.95:-
Now, I'm not sure whether this cleanser is actually part of the glycolic range or not, but it is an intense, moisturising multi-purpose cream. Like mentioned previously, I was in need of a good hydrating moisturiser, so I thought I would start the hydration process by adding this into my cleansing routine.
Claims - 'Deep cleansing cream with uplifting Eucalyptus fragrance. A multi-purpose cleansing cream which melts away make up and deeply cleanses pores, for a clear and fresh complexion.'
How to use - 'Massage onto dry skin using circular motions. Rinse with warm water or remove with a muslin cloth rinsed in hand-hot water, to aid exfoliation. Use as a 10 minute face mask or apply a thin layer overnight as an intensive hydrating treat. Apply a small amount directly onto blemishes.'
The consistency of this cream is really thick, and has luxurious rich texture. I personally use a thin layer of this over night, when I wake up and my face feels super refreshed and looks so clear!

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Cleanser £7.95:-
I tend to use this cleanser almost daily, as I only really use the 'Deep Cleansing Cream' as an overnight mask. I can honestly say that this is the best cleanser I have used. I apply this onto my face whilst its damp and it foams up really well, then I just rinse off. This is the only foaming cleanser I have tried that doesn't leave my skin feeling tight.
Claims - 'A deep cleansing and purifying formula for clear and radiant skin. 2% Glycolic Acid to gently exfoliate and retexture. Apple amino acid to cleanse and purify. Olive Oil to hydrate and smooth.'
How to use - 'Gently and thoroughly massage into damp skin. Rinse with lukewarm water.'
This cleanser has literally became my holy grail product, since I started using it I have seen such a difference in my skin. It is so much brighter and I hardly ever break out. One thing I would mention is that this isn't a cleanser you could use, morning and night as it may make the skin a little dry. I use it at night time only, and if I feel my skin getting the slightest bit dry I will use the 'Deep Cleansing Cream' to cleanse instead.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum £14.95:-
I have to say, this serum is amazing. I apply it at night before the 'Deep Cleansing Cream' and I'm pretty sure it has managed to lighten some scarring from previous blemishes. I have also noticed since using this, that my under-eye concealer creasing has became almost non-existent!
Claims - 'PoreAway visibility reduces the appearance of pores for a more refined and even looking complexion. 4% glycolic acid smoothes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. PoreAway minimises the appearance of enlarged pores. Aloe Vera soothes and calms.'
How to use - 'Gently massage on to clean skin and allow to absorb thoroughly. Apply daily for visible results after 2 weeks.'
The consistency of this serum, is almost gel like. I apply it after using the 'Glyolic Fix Cleanser' and before the 'Deep Cleansing Cream'. It sinks in perfectly leaving almost no residue on the skin.

I absolutely love this range and think it is well worth the money. There are quite a few more products in this range that I am interested in trying such as the 'Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Pads' and the 'Glycolic Fix Face Mask', if I ever end up trying them I will be sure to update you on my routine.

P.S - I managed to grab this lot whilst it was on a half price offer in Tesco and whilst I write this post I know it's also half price in Boots at the moment too!

Pinstripes For Spring // OOTD

Just a quick outfit post today, thought I'd share with you a recent vintage purchase I made - This amazing pinstripe shirt! I'm loving pinstripes at the moment and thought this would be perfect for spring.

I wanted the team the shirt with smart black trousers or jeans, but when I tried it out it seemed far too formal or the complete opposite, undressed. I decided to go with these New Look coated, leather look jeans - the sheen from them gives the look a sense of being 'put together' rather than just regular old jeans. My Adidas Stan Smith's have hardly left my feet since getting them around a month ago, I love the contrast of super casual and sporty trainers with this more structured outfit. Finally I thew on my trusty Primark duster coat which has served me so well over the past year, I can't get enough of it - its the perfect staple for almost any outfit. My accessories included my amazing Daniel Wellington watch which I received for christmas and a vintage silver ring I got from a vintage jewellery shop in Glasgow.

I hope you enjoyed this outfit and look forward to more looks from me!

Copper Homeware // Haul

Clock // Storage // Tea light Holders // Cake Stand

I have finally moved house! It's been totally stressful but my god, so worth it.
Would you all like a room tour?

As you have probably guessed from the last few homeware wish list posts, I am a tad obsessed with copper. This is just going to be a post on my little collection I've been saving for my move, and now I have I can finally show you all. Please excuse the quality of the above picture, I have yet to unpack my SLR camera (Whoops!).

I've been seeing copper everywhere recently, I think it looks absolutely striking in all white, minimal rooms (so Pintrest!). Both the clock and the ball shaped tea light holders in my haul are from Tesco's home section and surprisingly enough both in the sale too! I ended up paying £7.50 for the clock as it was reduced from the initial price of £22.00. I can't quite remember the price of the tea light holders - I think it was something ridiculously cheap though. The copper storage pots were also a complete bargain at £11.99 from TK Maxx, I've linked a similar style but check in your local stores as I have seen quite a few stocked in different stores. I love the fact it comes with four storage pots and a tray making it perfect for so many uses and switching up the look. Finally, the copper cake stand - this picture really does not do it justice, it's beautiful! Yet again the cake stand was another bargain costing a mere £3.00 from Tiger.

Let me know your thoughts on the copper trend!

45 Minutes in Ikea just isn't enough.. // Haul

As you all know - especially if you follow me on twitter or instagram, that I am moving house in the next week or so, I literally haven't been this excited in my life!  Currently, the only thing I do during my day is daydream of painted white, wood floorboards and all the other gorgeous 'pintrest' style bedrooms.

The other week I popped into Ikea just before closing (to some, 45 minutes wouldn't be classed as JUST before closing time - oops!) and picked up a few accessories for my bedroom / bathroom. The theme of my bedroom is going to be very minimalistic having only white, grey and black decor with hints of copper within the accessories and lots of leafy green plants.

Would you believe that all this just came to £18?! I thought these items were fantastic to start off my monochrome, minimal theme. I really like the white ceramic dish, I love the idea of having it on a bedside table with rings in. Originally I was looking for a marble effect dish but I can't seem to find one anywhere! So, if anyone knows where I could find one please let me know!

Interior Faves // eBay Gems

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8

I kept my promise! I did say in my last post I would follow up with an interior 'eBay Gems' post, so here it is.. It couldn't have came at a better time either, as I'm going to be moving in the next few months which is exciting, but I'll tell you all about that in a post I'm going to do - about my new years resolutions, and a quick update post too.

I'm absolutely loving copper at the moment and this Karlsson clock is just what dreams are made of. I've already planned the decor for my new room (which I haven't even found yet), I'm thinking all white with black and copper accessories - I can't wait.

The whole minimal, Scandinavian interior is totally up my street, I can spend hours on pintrest re-pinning homes that only one can dream about. What do you guys think of the black uplighter? I can't believe it's only £23.99 and comes in white too, it's such a timeless piece that would work well with all sorts of decor.

Let me know over on twitter if you find any eBay gems, or leave me a comment below!
